Interactive Narrative Art Workshop and Artist Talk- In this interactive workshop Sean Karemaker will discuss narratives and art in video games, graphic novels, virtual reality, VR and AR. Participants will then be led in a collaborative scroll drawing exercise. This is an introductory workshop where all skill levels are welcome.


Sean Karemaker is known for his unique form of panoramic, sequential art stories that take various forms, including graphic novels, paintings, dioramas and virtual reality. Informed by an extensive background in 3D Video Games Production and Graphic Design, His work is an intersection of personal expression in storytelling and cutting edge technology.

Sean has authored two graphic novels and his published work has been recognized by The Shuster Awards 2018, Best American Comics 2018, CBC’s Best Canadian Comics 2018, and the Alcuin Society Book Design Awards. Sean’s graphic sensibility translates to unique, immersive public art projects and he has been commissioned by the Vancouver Opera, Vancouver General Hospital and The Vancouver Airport.

Karemaker lectures at Universities and schools in Europe, North America, Europe and Asia to share his vision for a future where the stories at the forefront of our culture represent empathy, Karemaker uses his art to connect with and inspire the next generations of artists.
