Songwriting workshop

Join local songwriters Catherine McInnes and Sam Sinanan for an exploration of the songwriting process. Try out different approaches and learn about ways to find inspiration and hone your skills as a songwriter.

Optional: bring a completed song or work in progress for peer feedback, time permitting.

Open to all levels of songwriters as well as those completely new to the art form.

Catherine McInnes is a singer-songwriter, jazz vocalist and composer. She won the Ontario Council of Folk Festival’s Songs From The Heart Award in 2007 for her song Waltzing on Eggshells. She has self-produced and recorded two CDs. Samantha Sinanan is a local singer-songwriter who has called Squamish home since 2013. Sam recently released her first full-length recording of original songs. The album features all original music crafted from the heart. Rooted in story, Will You Think Of Me blends soulful folk with fresh, innovative melodies. She is proud to be part of the Squamish-based Bluesberry Jam Showband in addition to leading an original folk/country/blues project called Cowgirl Lovebrand, who can be found playing locally and abroad.
