Custom Machine Embroidery

  • Create Makerspace 39449 Queens Way Squamish, BC, V8B 0R5 Canada (map)

It’s time to enter your monogram era. Learn how to turn logos, text, and art into custom embroidery with a digital embroidery machine. In this 2 hour workshop, digital artist Seanna Evans will show you the basics of the Brother LB5000, and participants will work through embroidering text on to an item from home, or a provided fabric swatch. Seanna will also share tips and examples of more complex methods of embroidery, including converting digital files or logos to embroidery and using multiple colors.

Previous experience with a sewing machine may be helpful, but is not required.

What to bring:

  • An idea for text embroidery. A name, initials, or a short saying works well!

  • An item to embroider (optional). We suggest a t-shirt, tote bag, or something similar. Avoid anything too stretchy!

Seanna Evans is a 3D modelling artist in her day job, and a "jill of all trades" after hours. From sewing her own wedding gown to learning a variety of new skills at the Create Makerspace, Seanna is an expert at picking up new hobbies. As a steward at Create Makerspace, Seanna's become an expert on the embroidery machine, and offers custom embroidery services through her business, which you can find at @sea.in.color.
