Since retiring, Sharon Slater has dedicated her time to teaching Line Dancing as a volunteer. She also teaches at local pubs in Squamish, as well as private parties, all to raise money to support Sea to Sky Hospice. Through this, she has built lasting friendships and found a sense of purpose in creating a space where everyone feels valued and empowered to learn and have fun. Her greatest joy is taking her students out into the community to share what they’ve learned with our local retirement homes. Volunteering has given her the joy of connecting with others and feeling part of a vibrant supportive community.
